Gemstone bracelets by meaning — five characters, your choice
Every natural stone carries a meaning handed down by tradition: citrine is often taken as a symbol of abundance, obsidian is associated with safe passage, and rose quartz with warm friendships. We have grouped these traditional symbols into five characters. Each bead you place in the designer shifts the character of your bracelet — where it leans is up to you.

How the designer reads a character
Every material has a traditional symbol
Materials are grouped by the traditional meaning of their stone and shape — a pixiu carving or a four-leaf clover, for example, each has its own symbol.
Weighted by how much of it you use
Bigger beads and more of them give that symbol more weight. Blank-canvas stones such as clear quartz and metal spacers are not counted.
The character of this strand
Whichever symbol carries the most weight becomes the bracelet's character; when two are close, both are shown. Add or remove a bead and it is read again.
Fortune & Insight
The two carry about the same weight.

Questions
Will wearing these materials actually make things go better?
The characters here are drawn from the traditional symbolism of each material. They are a reference and a sentiment for choosing, not an effect, and they promise no outcome. We make no claim that any natural stone acts on your body, your fortunes or your mood.
Can the five characters be mixed?
Yes — most bracelets carry two or three characters anyway. The designer shows the share of each one and which beads it comes from.
I am not sure which character suits me. How do I choose?
Start from whatever matters most to you right now. Or try Natal Stone Selection: it works out a palette from your birthday, and you can see which character that palette has.
Why are clear quartz and metal spacers not counted?
White stones such as clear quartz are traditionally used as a neutral base that leans towards no particular meaning. Metal spacers are structural — they break up the strand, and people rarely choose them for their symbolism.
